Frequently Asked questions
Apex is participatory. Chef Cynthia guides your group as you prepare the menu together and then enjoy what you have made. If you are seeking a fully served meal with no guest cooking, ask whether a separate culinary service or partner referral is available.
Public Cooking Basics classes currently accommodate up to four participants. Private experiences typically serve 2–10 guests. Team, retreat, and venue formats may support larger groups when the setting, staffing, and event design allow.
Experiences may be held in private homes, approved vacation rentals, retreat properties, partner venues, or suitable commercial and community kitchens within the Hudson Valley service area.
Yes. Private menus are developed collaboratively, but Chef Cynthia confirms the final menu based on the group, location, equipment, timing, season, dietary needs, and desired experience. Public classes use the menu listed at registration.
Please disclose all allergies and dietary needs before booking or purchasing a class. Reasonable modifications may be possible, but not every menu can be adapted and shared kitchens cannot be guaranteed free of allergens or cross-contact.
Private cook-together and vacation-rental experiences start at $750, with travel and other applicable costs added. Cooking Basics is generally $90 per participant. Team, retreat, venue, and larger custom experiences are quoted based on scope.
Allow three to four weeks for most private experiences and four to six weeks for teams or retreats. Public ticketed venue events should begin planning at least six weeks ahead. More time is helpful for weekends, holidays, custom menus, and larger groups.
Begin with an inquiry. After availability and scope are confirmed, Apex will provide the booking terms. A date is reserved only after the required agreement and deposit or full payment is received.
Cancellation, transfer, and refund terms depend on the experience type and will be provided before payment. Public class policies also appear during registration.
You must receive permission from the property owner or manager before booking. Apex will also need the property address, kitchen details, access instructions, parking information, and any vendor or insurance requirements.
Apex and the venue agree on the guest experience, responsibilities, capacity, menu, schedule, marketing, ticketing, financial terms, and cancellation process before the event is announced.
